Mask Making in Galle
Description
Get involved in Sri Lankan tradition by creating your own authentic mask, used in local rituals and beliefs. Learn about the historic carving techniques while the host tells the stories about this rich part of Sri Lankan history. The arts and crafts shop is hidden in the UNESCO world heritage awarded Galle Fort. Create your own mask by not only following traditional techniques, but also use authentic and sustainable materials such as kithul (treacle), kurundu (cinnamon), clay and recycled paper. Once finished you can bring your self-made authentic souvenir home, holding an unforgetable memory.
You can choose to learn the carving or painting technique, rather want to learn both? This is also possible and will provide the most enhanced experience. Extra costs are made for this complete experience and the points per person are 683 for an adult and 345 for a child in this case.
This activity requires a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 4 people to participate to provide the best personal assistance possible. This is also perfect for families with children!

Battles & Bastions Tour
Description
Discover the rich history of Galle, a town with influences from the Dutch, British and Portugese. The fort has survived all the colonial changes and shows influences from the different colonial eras and battles fought over the centuries. Be inspired by the many breathtaking stories that happened in and around the fort, told by an experienced guide. Also take a moment to hear about the 2004 tsunami at Fort Galle and end the tour by the iconic, Japanese Peace Pagoda overlooking lighthouse.
To avoid the midday heat, choose for the morning session (from 9am to 11am) or the afternoon session (from 4.30pm to 6.30pm). And do not forget to bring cool clothing, sunscreen and refreshing water.
